About Us
“Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.
Take delight in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart” Psalm 37:3-4
A good friend of our family has always said that “people don’t care what you know, until they know that you care.” There is a lot of truth to that, so let me start off by assuring you that here at Pastures Promise we care. In fact, caring is our “why”.
A while back I realized that I needed to be more conscientious about the quality of food that my family was eating. As I set out on my mission to eat healthier, I started doing some research. I learned some startling facts about the food industry and their production practices. I was especially concerned with the conventional methods of poultry production. Chicken has always been a dietary staple in our home, and according to a study posted on the USDA website we’re not alone. Their report showed that in the United States, chicken outranks beef and pork in per-person consumption. My primary concern with this statistic has nothing to do with chicken itself. In fact, chicken is an excellent source of lean protein and is nutrient-dense with amino acids, vitamins and minerals. My concerns were primarily on the production side.
Thankfully that’s something I could fix. How do we do that here at Pastures Promise? We do that by raising our chickens outside on pasture with fresh air and sunshine. We house our chickens in mobile coops that are moved daily to fresh grass for the chickens to enjoy foraging through. Our chickens are exclusively given organic, non-gmo, soy-free feed. Although we are not certified organic, our practices are. We manage the vegetation on our pastures strictly mechanically with zero use of chemicals.
We’ve been so pleased with the quality and taste of the chicken that we have produced that we want to share it with you. At Pasture’s Promise, it is our promise to maintain the highest quality standards. We hope that you can find comfort in knowing that when you buy from us. We care. We care about our customers, about our chickens, about the land, and about being good stewards of this opportunity that God has given us.
